Modern Vintage Home Tour
Come tour our modern vintage home with a cozy, rustic vibe!
Welcome to our home!
Come on in and I'll show you around!
I love having company over, so I'm glad you're here!My style is modern vintage because every room has a little bit of old and new.
In this home tour, you'll find all my DIY projects, paint colors, and links to the before shots.
We've come a long way from the day we moved in and I'm excited to give you the tour.
Let's get to it!

Front Foyer
This front entry used to lack a lot of life before we moved in.
Painting the door was a huge improvement and adding the gallery wall gives the entry a much bigger feel because it draws your eye up when you walk in.
With modern decor, I have added in a vintage marble table that was in our dining room in the house I grew up in back in Chicago.
The floors came with the house, but they have that thin slat, old school vibe which I love.

Front Room (A.K.A. Frunch Room)
Anyone else call it a frunch room?
Pretty sure that's a Chicago slang, but this room is one of our favorite rooms to cozy up in.
Because the room is not completely finished, I don't have too many photos just yet, but if you ever need a chance to take a breather and just soak in a cocktail and read a good book, this is the room to do it.
Many vintage antiques reside on that bookshelf!

Dining Room
The dining room is my last room on the main level to beautify.
A few final touches and it will be ready to give the full tour, but for now, I'll give you a sneak peek at my centerpiece.
More to come on the dining room soon… I promise!
Living Room
The living room was one of my first rooms to really transform.
The vintage antique door and crates bring in the old with my modern leather chair and modern fireplace.
I just recently updated the fireplace surround to a matte gray with spray paint!
Throughout each season, I feel like it gets cozier and cozier!

Office Meets Craft Room
The home office is right outside the living room and pulls double duty as an office and a craft room.
The before photos show how far this room has come.
I now can breath when I'm in this room!
You can see my vintage sewing table and raw wood elements to keep the rustic theme mixed with my modern elements.
I love mixing styles, can you tell?

Powder Room
This room was so hideous before we painted.
Now that it is done, I have never felt better about hosting parties (pre-Covid of course) and allowing people to use the bathroom.
The best part is this room cost me less than $100 to transform!
In phase 2 of this transformation, I added the DIY acrylic frames of all my husband's favorite golf courses in black and white.
I love it because the black and white gives them that vintage look, but they are photos we actually took ourselves!

Kitchen
The kitchen was another room that need a whole bunch of upgrades.
The before photos really do enlighten you on how far this room has come.
The dark cabinets give this kitchen a timeless look and adding the modern slate placemats and lighting brings the two together!

Back Entry
The small back entryway was pretty bland at the beginning, but since there isn't a ton of room, a little sprucing with paint and fabric was exactly what it needed.

Guest Room
This room was one of my first DIY projects.
Other than updating some pillows, this room has stayed this way since I completed it four years ago!
The rustic headboard mixed with the more modern day stencil and patterns gives me that old and new mix here too!

Nursery
This is one of my favorite rooms in the whole house!
This serene safari-themed nursery is one of the most relaxing spaces. Baby girl does take all her naps in her crib, but is still bunking with mom and dad at night.
You have to read all about the reusable decals I found on Etsy in this post.

The Bonus Room long laid dormant with a single couch and a TV.
You can see the before photos here.
With the new baby, this room has been getting a lot of use.
So glad we updated it before little miss arrived.
The vintage style rug is probably my favorite piece in this whole room.
All the color really brings out the fun and spunk we want this room to have.
After all, it will be our playroom in the near future!

Basement Bathroom
And last, but not least, the basement bathroom!
This bathroom was built from scratch a couple years after we moved in.
It is fully equipped with a giant storage closet and adds another full bath to our home.
I'll get a better photo of the shower soon, but the colors are pretty accurate in the other photo above.
Building a bathroom from nothing was super fun, but definitely required some planning.
I linked the post below on my tips for planning such a space.
