6 Paint Projects to Easily Give Your Home a Boost
Looking to easily update your home without spending a ton? My top paint projects of 2021 will do just the trick.
What I've realized over the years is that as much as I love a good DIY project that gets your hands dirty, nothing quite does it for me like paint.
The funny part about that is, to be honest, I don't actually enjoy painting.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy when a painting project is done.
And I enjoy planning out a painting project, but the actual act of painting isn't my favorite thing.
Mostly I think because all of my perfectionist-ness goes out the window and I find myself saying a lot of things to just be done like… that's good enough! lol
With that being said, I'm actually amazed at how many painting projects I have tackled over the years and how many of them are still some of my favorite projects and rooms in my home.
So remember, you don't have to like painting or even be good at it.
But if you want to save money and give your home a quick and powerful update, painting projects are the way to go.
Here are some of my favorites to inspire your next project…

DIY Home Office Accent Wall
If you follow me on Instagram stories, you'll likely see this background.
I had this random idea one day after finding this beautiful rug from West Elm.
I had no where to put the rug I found, but I loved its pattern so much.
My office needed a little uplift, so I grabbed my trusted Frogtape and added this rug turned mural to my home office.
You can see the whole process on how to paint a color block wall here.
Modern Vintage Bedroom Refresh
My next paint project is when we tackled our guest bedroom.
You have to see what this room looked like before.
Talk about a huge transformation.
Changing up the paint turned this wild room into a calm oasis for our guests.
This room always reminds me of the power of paint!
Guest Bedroom Stenciled Accent Wall
Sadly, this was one of my favorite rooms in our home, but has since been converted into our second nursery for baby #2.
This stencil accent wall was one of the very first projects I completed when we moved into our new home.
Accent walls are some of the best ways to add character to a room, but my all time favorite way is to add a stencil.
You can find my entire tutorial on what to do (and not to do) when stenciling a wall here.
Powder Room Faux Wallpaper
I told you I loved stenciling projects, right?
This powder room makeover is by far one of my favorite painting projects ever!
We went from a 90s circus bathroom to this beautifully modern masterpiece.

Cheap Fireplace Surround Upgrade
Did you know that it can cost you about $2,000 to change out your fireplace mantel and surround?
That's a major commitment!
One day I'm sure I'll get there, but in the phase of life we're in right now, this is not a priority.
However, I was soooo tired of looking at the ugly beige fireplace surround, I had to do something.
Enter spray paint.
Ya, that's right… this beautiful aged gray fireplace surround cost me $15 for two cans of spray paint.
Now that's what I call painting at its finest… cheap and effective.
You can check out the full tutorial on how I spray painted the fireplace surround here.
The Ultimate Bathroom Countertop Update
Speaking of spray paint, let's not forget the most loved post on my blog and the most loved project from yours truly… the spray painted countertops!!
The best part of this entire project is that over a year later, it's holding up oh so beautifully!
If you are in need of a super inexpensive upgrade to your bathroom countertops, I highly recommend this hack.

I hope these projects inspired you to take some action and update a few of those spaces you've been longing to upgrade.
Happy painting!
